We own the software, so following the rules is built in.
We built our own software, with every report the government needs designed in. For you, that means fewer outages and a station that keeps earning.
Everything a station needs, in one place.
Chargers connect straight to Switchback. Most newer chargers work as they are, and existing stations can switch over without new equipment.
Billing
Charges by the kWh, itemized receipts, card holds and refunds.
Uptime tracking
Records every outage and its cause, kept for the government.
Power sharing
Splits the site's power between cars without dropping anyone below their promised speed.
Works with other networks
Drivers can use accounts from other charging networks (OCPI 2.2.1).
Driver help
Help on the web, by card at the charger, or by toll-free call or text.
Government reports
Federal reports, plus clean fuel credit reports for Oregon and California.

It manages more than chargers: the whole site.
Switchback also runs batteries, solar and other equipment on the same line, like AI computers. It shares the power, keeps peak use low and checks every machine.
- Sets a safe power limit based on the site's connection and the electrical code
- Keeps every 15-minute stretch under its target, to avoid big utility fees
- Sets the power for each charger, and for other equipment on site
- If a machine stops reporting, plays it safe until it's back
- Writes down every decision and why, ready for inspectors, insurers and grant agencies
Industry standards, everywhere.
Using open standards means landowners aren't stuck with one charger brand or network, and agencies get data the way they want it.
